Day 2
Sacred Valley

Urubamba (B)

After breakfast, enjoy an entire day exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Get to know the impressive landscape, the Urubamba River, and colorful markets where indigenous folk continue their centuries-old trades. In Ollantaytambo, you’ll see awe-striking fortresses and ruins. After the long day of exploring you’ll spend the night in this charming town.

The town of Ollantaytambo is considered by many as the last remaining living Inca city. Here, the Spanish construction rises over the Inca foundations, water channels run alongside the houses, and the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo can be seen on top of the hill. Spending the night in this city is a magical experience.

Day 3
Machu Picchu

Macchu Picchu / Cusco (B, L)

Today will be a full day excursion to Machu Picchu with a local guide. First, we’ll take the train from the foot of the mountain to Aguas Calientes. The journey to the town of Aguas Calientes itself is an amazing experience: You will see how slowly the vegetation changes as a scenic train ride brings you closer and closer to the mysterious city of Machu Picchu; follow the river and be amazed by the giant mountains that stand guard over the entrance to Machu Picchu.

From Aguas Calientes, a bus will take us to the entrance of the ruins, where the guided tour begins. You will feel the thrill of discovering the lost city of the Inca, just as Hiram Bingham once did. Walk down the narrow streets of this elaborate city and learn more about the Inca culture and its incredible construction and social organization. By the end of the day, you will surely be impressed by the Inca fortress and its secrets. We will leave by train once more and arrive to the Poroy Train Station, from which point you will be transferred to Cusco to spend the night.
