Mother’s Day: Today we celebrate motherhood
Mother´s Day is a holiday celebrated all throughout different countries of the world. Today we celebrate motherhood and go the extra mile to make our mom, or Madre as it said in Spanish, feel extra loved.
While the world continues to be partly on hold, here at Haugan Cruises we would like to wish all Mothers around the world a Happy Mother’s Day, and have put together three ideas for things you can do to show your appreciation.
The first is the most obvious, stay connected! If you are not fortunate to be next to your mother then a video call to say hello will go a long way.
But in this day and age of technology, a handwritten letter, thanking them and letting them know how you feel, would make mom feel more special. Come on try not to take the easy way out and maybe do both!
Discover her secrets!
If you are fortunate enough to have your mom next to you then our second suggestion is making a home cooked meal! I think it is safe to say we are all struggling and maybe even stressed with the situation at hand. One of the most stress relieving activities is the ability to create something from nothing. Use this opportunity to learn to make mom’s favorite dish, share your memories, laugh, live, and enjoy this free time.
Like the saying goes we have saved the best idea for last. While we all have different mothers, we all have one in common, and that is Mother Nature.
Although, all year around is special in Galapagos, the month of May is considered one of the best times to visit the archipelago. The waters are calm, clear, and temperature wise very warm which is a plus for kids.
In North Seymour, Blue Footed boobies begin the traditional courtship dance, a very unusual two step dance to impress potential mothers to be. In the island of Española the Waved Albatrosses mothers will begin to lay their eggs. At the same time in the nearby island of Santa Cruz you can expect to find the amazing phenomenon of marine iguana eggs hatching. As will turtle eggs be laid in, in Gardner Bay, Punta Cormorant, and Puerto Egas.
The month of May will indeed find the Mothers from different species in Galapagos busy. Use this opportunity to talk to mom about taking her on a visit to the Galapagos Islands!. Take advantage of our “buy now pay later” promotion and make her dreams come true.
