Happy New Year to you! I have been intending to send you a note, but have been busy at work since returning from the trip. We had a fabulous time�both in the Galapagos and on our tours. The staff and guide (Diego) on the Galaxy were excellent, and Byron was an exceptional guide as well. Elena and I really enjoyed spending time with all of them and were impressed by their extensive knowledge. The Le Parc was a fantastic base, and Luna Runtun in Banos was incredible.

Ecuador is the most beautiful country I have visited, and you and your colleagues really ensured that all of our needs were met during our visit. Christian, you, in particular, made the entire process easy�you had a good sense for the types of tours we would like and made the planning process very easy�thank you.

I will admit that we were a little disappointed that we were unable to make it to the Black Sheep Inn b/c Elena had read about it and was looking forward to staying there. We certainly understand that the rockslide that prevented us from reaching Black Sheep couldn�t be helped and that there were limited options, and we will have fond memories of our hacienda experience.

However, Elena lost her iPhone either at Le Parc on the night of the 31st or at the hacienda, and I am afraid that it was stolen from her backpack by one of the other guests at the hacienda b/c the bedroom doors didn�t lock. Also, I think Elena would have preferred a substitute with a private bath. In any event, the family there was very gracious, and the food was delicious�we just should have been more careful with our luggage. I think our travel insurance will cover the loss anyway.

Christian, thank you again for arranging a fantastic trip�we are still wishing that we were still in Ecuador. I have already recommended you to several people here, and Elena and I want to plan a trip to Peru in the future. We also need to make it back to the rain forest at some point. I hope that 2009 is good to you. Take care.
