Not
very far south from Quito we find Baños, a small subtropical
valley at the base of the "Mama Tungurahua" volcano.
This area is gifted with orchids, incredible waterfalls and medicinal
hot springs, and is also the gateway to the Amazon Basin. After
Baños a spectacular train ride awaits you in Riobamba,
where you will be zigzagging your way down on the Devil's Nose,
a steep incline before continuing on to Cuenca.

Day 1: (L-D)
We will drive to the south of Quito, visit Ecuador’s first National Park, where Cotopaxi Volcano , the highest active volcano on earth, is the main attraction. You can explore the Andean moorlands with more than 90 species of highlands birds or hike up to the snow line (4,800 mts). We will stop for lunch in one of the local traditional haciendas. Afterwards, panoramic view of Ambato, city of flowers and fruits, also known for its fine leather industry,. When we arrive in Baños, in the afternoon, a land of orchids and waterfalls at the base of the Tungurahua Volcano (5,046 mts) we will have time to explore the local church, one of Ecuador’s pilgrimage centers. Day 2: (B-L)
Early in the morning an american breakfast will be served,then we will drive thru the road of waterfalls, orchids and guabas, enjoy the powerful Agoyan Falls and hydropower dam, the devil`s caldron and the local zoo with about 100 local species; relaxing medicinal hot springs. Return to Quito.
