Petrel Itinerary

Please note: These Galapagos cruise itineraries are subject to change without previous notice due to weather conditions and National Park regulations. Itineraries of 8 or more days may be scheduled to stop at ports for various cruise logistic reasons and/or for embarking/disembarking passengers. Please check with our Guide and Quality Control Manager for our Jaccuzi schedules.

Day 1

Fri

am: Baltra Island: Arrival in Baltra airport and transfer to the boat. Briefing onboard about the boat and the island.
pm: North Seymour Island: Explore the rocky coast, passing colonies of blue-footed boobies and magnificent frigatebirds.

Day 2

Sat

am: Isabela - Vicente Roca Point: The remnants of an ancient volcano form two turquoise coves with a bay protected from ocean swells.
pm: Fernandina - Espinosa Point: A narrow stretch of land where hundreds of marine iguanas gather largely on black lava rocks.

Day 3

Sun

am: Isabela - Tagus Cove: An opportunity to see penguins as well as marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs and sea lions.
pm: Isabela - Urbina Bay: Its waters are a good place to see turtles and rays. Ashore you’ll find a short trail leading to a coral reef.

Day 4

Mon

am: Isabela - Elizabeth Bay: As you enter the bay, hawks soar overhead and schools of fish can be seen swimming beneath the surface.
pm: Isabela - Moreno Point: Beautiful rocky shores where penguins and shore birds, including blue herons, are usually spotted.

Day 5

am: Isabela - Sierra Negra Volcano: On the way up you can see lush vegetation and the summit offers a spectacular view of the lowlands.
pm: Isabela - Wetlands: They consist of lagoons, swamps, and mangroves and are home to a variety of unique bird species.

Breeding Center: This breeding center is named after Arnaldo Tupiza. It is another aera where Galapagos Tortoises are bred in order to later be released into the wild.

am: Santa Cruz - Charles Darwin Station: An organization that provides scientific assistance to ensure the proper preservation of the Galápagos.
pm: Santa Cruz - Los Gemelos: Spanish for The Twins, they are two volcanic depressions on the highest part of Santa Cruz.

Day 7

am: South Plaza Island: South Plaza has one of the largest populations of land iguanas in the Galápagos.
pm: Santa Fe Island: A volcanic uplift that hosts a forest of Opuntia and Palo Santo. Endemic land iguanas are often seen.

am: San Cristobal Island: Arrival in airport and transfer to the boat. Briefing onboard about the boat and the island.
pm: San Cristobal - Interpretation Center: A series of interactive exhibits providing information about the history and biodiversity of the Galápagos.

San Cristobal - La Galapaguera: Learn about the Giant Tortoise breeding program established by the National Park.

Day 2

am: Española - Gardner Bay: Gardner Bay has a magnificent beach with turquoise waters. The bay is home of a large colony of sea lions.

Española - Osborn Islet: This small island is a marine visit where you can enjoy fantastic snorkeling and swimming.

pm: Española - Suárez Point: Suárez Point is one of the most outstanding wildlife areas of the archipelago.

Day 3

am: Floreana - Cormorant Point: Cormorant Point offers a trail overlooking a saltwater lagoon that is a favorite of flamingos.

Floreana - Devil’s Crown: Arguably the best snorkelling site in the islands, Devil’s Crown boasts an amazing variety of marine life.

pm: Floreana - Post Office Bay: A white-sand beach where in the past sailors used to leave and receive their letters in a barrel.

pm: Santa Cruz - Highlands: The highlands are located in the northern part of the island and can reach elevations up to 1500 mt.

Day 5

am: Santiago - Sullivan Bay: The lava field has a variety of patterns made by the shapes and textures of trees that once existed there.
pm: Bartholomew - Pinnacle Rock: Bartholomew is home of the Pinnacle Rock: the most famous view in the Galapagos Islands.

Day 6

am: Genovesa - Darwin Bay: A coral beach where a 750 mt. trail takes you through more seabird colonies.
pm: Genovesa - Prince Phillip’s Steps: An extraordinary, steep path leads through a seabird colony full of life, up to cliffs that are 25m high.

Day 7

Thu

am: Santiago - Puerto Egas: Puerto Egas, with its black sand beaches, was the site of small salt mining industry in the 1960s.
pm: Santiago - Espumilla Beach: Espumilla Beach is a popular place for marine iguanas and Sally Lightfoot Crabs.

Santiago - Buccaneer Cove: Buccaneer Cove is a testament to the fact that Santiago was once a refuge for British buccaneers.

am: Santa Cruz - Carrion Point: A lagoon with beautiful turquoise water where you can see a variety of fish, rays and white-tip reef sharks.
